Welcome to Troop 1830/5830

Welcome to the home of Troops 1830 and 5830 of Hillsboro, Oregon. Troop 1830 was founded in 2019 by a group of boys and adults seeking fun and adventure.  In 2022, we added 5830, our Scouting America girls troop.

We meet Thursday 7:00 - 8:30pm at Hope Fellowship of Hillsboro

Scouting is all about developing life skills, leadership, and teamwork while having fun! Through various activities, scouts learn valuable lessons in responsibility, perseverance, and respect for the outdoors.

We aim to hold a one-night campout every month, typically from Friday to Saturday. These outings provide a fantastic opportunity for the scouts to bond while enjoying nature and learning outdoor skills. Alongside our campouts, we organize fundraising events and fun activities throughout the year to keep things exciting.

Our troops also utilizes a very “youth lead” approach, so the older scouts help out the younger ones and the campouts and activities are planned and lead mostly by our youth with adult help being more a supervisor role to ensure safety is maintained.

Each summer, our troop attends a week-long scout camp, giving the scouts a chance to immerse themselves in a variety of activities and earn merit badges. 

Older scouts have the opportunity to go on high adventures where they are challenged. These are typically multi-day outdoor experiences designed to push Scouts beyond their comfort zones while building leadership, teamwork, confidence, and outdoor skills.
